With the help of our team on the ground in Pakistan, we were able to launch a relief fund to aid the people who need help the most.

As heavy rains and flash flooding wreak havoc in southern Pakistan, many Pakistani Americans are worried about their loved ones who are caught in the disaster. The death toll has already reached over the hundreds, with hundreds more injured or missing, and the floodwaters are still rising. 

Pakistan is no stranger to floods, but this year’s monsoon season has been particularly brutal. Heavy rains have pounded the country for weeks, causing rivers to overflow their banks and triggering mudslides. The resulting floods have inundated thousands of villages and left millions of people without access to clean water, food, or shelter. 

The United Nations has launched a $460 million appeal for humanitarian assistance, but it will likely be weeks before aid reaches the affected areas. In the meantime, Pakistani-Americans are doing what they can to help from afar.
