How to Welcome a New Staff Member to the Team
How to Welcome a New Employee
On their first day of work, be sure to introduce the new hire to their colleagues—including those in other departments who they'll be working with closely. If possible, arrange for someone to serve as their "buddy" for their first few weeks on the job, who can answer any questions they may have and help them get acclimated to company culture. It's also a good idea to give them a tour of the office and company facilities so they know where everything is located. Finally, be sure to schedule regular check-in meetings with them so you can provide feedback and help them address any challenges they're facing.
Orienting Them to Company Culture
In addition to getting acclimated to their surroundings, it's important that new employees understand your company's values and culture. One of the best ways to do this is by sharing your company's history with them—how it got started, what its mission is, etc. You can also provide them with an overview of your company's structure and hierarchy as well as introduce them to any relevant policies or procedures. Finally, it's helpful to connect them with a mentor who can provide guidance and support as they navigate their new role within the company.
Providing ongoing support
Of course, orienting a new employee isn't a one-time event—it's an ongoing process that should continue throughout their tenure at your company. In addition to regular check-ins, be sure to provide feedback on their performance on an ongoing basis. And if they ever need assistance or have questions about anything, be sure you (or someone on your team) are always available to help.

Set them up with New Hire Kits
It takes a certain amount of time for new employees to feel like they are a part of the firm once they have started working there after they have joined the organization. It is possible for it to contain many of the day-to-day necessities that an employee may require, such as a laptop computer, notebooks, a key to the building, and other items, such as t-shirts and caps with the company logo printed on them. Companies are responsible for coming up with their own new hire kits. This doesn’t need to be difficult! With BlinkSwag and our wide variety of new hire kits available online, not only do you get a curated, branded kit, but it’s all available to you at the click of a button.
